Have you submitted your website to various search engines yet? Do you know how?
First, let me tell you why website submission is important.
Having a listing on Google and other major search engines such as Yahoo, Bing, and Yandex, is such an effective way to gain traffic to your website without having to invest money into ads or click-to-call campaigns. There is no cost to submitting your website or to maintaining a listing on search engines. This is great news and a huge benefit for you that should be utilized.
Organic traffic, or in other words, unpaid clicks, is the most valuable source of gaining traffic on a website. You always have the opportunity to invest in ads and campaigns at a later date, but there honestly is so much potential with organic traffic and ranking. We just have to know how to use it properly!
Submitting your website is not mandatory. Your website will appear in the organic search results on search engines without submission. However, it will help speed up the process of allowing search engine to scan and index your website. Because we want to start showing up on different search engines quicker, website submission is an easy way to help accelerate the process. So, how do we do it?
Choose the Search Engine you’d like to submit your website to from the list below and follow the prompts from the page. Typically, it will ask you to enter your website URL, DNS information, and to verify that this is your domain. Easy as that!
Submit Website to Google Search Console
Submit Website to Yahoo
Submit Website to Bing
Submit RSS Feed to Google
DuckDuckGo does not require submission of websites.
Their search engine automatically scans and indexes new websites.
These are the top search engines to submit your website to. Do not bother trying to find the name of every search engine in existence and spend hours submitting. There is honestly no need for that. The majority of people use the above mentioned search engines to find information, with the majority using Google as their main search engine. So, just submit to those three and that will be sufficient.
There is also another wonderful option for website submission I highly recommend everyone take advantage of…and that is, submitting your website to the Google My Business console. Have you ever noticed that when you search for something, a panel of 3+ business names appear at the top? They appear right above the organic website results. Those are known as Google listings. That panel with the Google listings is the most desired place to be because those are the verified businesses. They are marked as legit and reliable by Google, which is a big deal. I highly recommend that you verify your business with Google if you have do not so already.
Click here to verify your business with Google My Business
You will be asked to fill out your company name, address, phone number, website, and your contact information. A post card will be sent to your address to verify your business, and you will receive a unique code to enter into the Google My Business platform for verification. Ta-dah! You’ve been approved and can work on gaining more exposure with this awesome advantage of having a Google listing.
Awesome! You’ve submitted your website and now you’re one step closer reaching the your desired ranking position.
